SUMMARY:NEEP Summit 2023
DESCRIPTION:The NEEP Summit will bring energy practitioners\, state and local policy makers\, utility experts\, industry leaders\, and problem solvers together in a wide range of collaborative\, interactive sessions\, small topical breakout working groups\, and informal engagement opportunities. Case studies\, models\, pathways\, and tangible solutions that work today and can be scaled with federal funding will be workshopped. Cutting through the noise\, the Summit will deliver the solutions and relationships you need to understand\, access\, and utilize resources to achieve long-term success \nPEA’s President & CEO\, Emily Schapira\, will be a featured panelist: \n Community Decarbonization: Beyond Lip Service\nThe federal government has prioritized community engagement and partnership as an essential part of Justice40\, and many IRA funding opportunities highlight centering communities in the development and implementation of programs. What does authentic\, inclusive\, and meaningful community engagement look like? We’ll examine equitable community empowerment and highlight tools like the community engagement spectrum and resources from EPA\, DOE\, and others. These case studies will highlight successes – and missteps – in engaging with communities beyond “checking the box” and help states\, communities\, and their partners to develop energy plans\, decarbonization strategies\, and program proposals. \nFacilitator: \n\nCynthia Jennings\, Attorney\, Board of Directors\, Slingshot\n\nSpeakers: \n\nEmily Schapira\, President & CEO\, Philidelphia Energy Authority\nGrace Umaña\, Community Program and Partnership Manager\, All In Energy\nJasmine Graham\, Executive Director\, Mid-Hudson Energy Transition Inc.\n\n  \nFor more information\, click here. \n
