Summary

The Community Outreach Manager is primarily responsible for creating and managing relationships with community based non-profit organizations, and local and state government to support marketing and media events which generate sales leads and success.  The Manager will further support and help manage state and local advocacy for supportive solar incentives and net metering in all existing and proposed new markets, as well as assist with Strategy, Operations, Financing and other Business Development-related activities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and manage relationships with community groups, and local and state government officials designed to drive lead generation and sales
  • Develop and manage the strategy and planning of canvassing, community partnership events, government events, and significant special events for the organization
  • Coordinate and organize efforts to represent the company favorably in the community and boost brand awareness
  • Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies
  • Develop and initiate programs that promote good will and foster relationships with community leaders
  • Manage staff responsible for event coordination activities
  • Coordinate all amenities and accommodations for the event
  • Monitor event budget and negotiate all necessary contracts
  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics on attendance, leads generated, sales generated, cost per lead and cost per sale
  • Ensure that community marketing leads and sales are properly entered and tracked in Salesforce, and that donations are promptly paid out when appropriate
  • Support SVP work to monitor, research and advocate for supportive solar incentives and retail net metering policies with state and local public service commissions, state legislatures, and state and local executive offices in all existing and likely new markets
  • Support SVP work to maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations, including proposed and final rules issued by relevant regulatory authorities that may impact PosiGen
  • Support SVP work to create and implement regulatory affairs policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained or enhanced
  • Support SVP work to manage lobbyists, consultants and relevant stakeholder relationships in advocacy for supportive solar incentives and net metering policies

Education/Experience

  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Two years’ work experience in a community-based nonprofit, marketing, sales, outreach, and/or event planning position highly preferred
  • Writing experience highly preferred
  • Public speaking experience preferred
  • Experience in developing community events is preferred
  • Hands on experience with social median management for brands
  • Retail sales experience working the floor preferred
  • Lead generation experience preferred
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Must have a clean driving record (example, no DUI in the last five years)
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal and drug screen
