Summary:
The Construction Estimator prepares timely and accurate bid estimates for medium to large sized projects/programs and helps plan all projects with expectations for the efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials and subcontractors within contract requirements, time guidelines and other restrictions. The Construction Estimator will fully understand the major business components and implications specific to estimating and cost control for Construction Companies while ensuring compliance with the Empower Constructions established Project Management Methodology and upholding Empower Constructions safety and quality management protocols.

Construction Estimator Job Responsibilities:
• Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
• Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
• Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
• Preparation and maintenance of bid documentation.
• Travel to jobs to confirm and evaluate site conditions.
• Develops bids for construction projects.
• Works closely with project team to monitor work items, procurement, etc.
• Monitors construction processes.
• Assist in preparing change orders to scope.
• Maintain company’s bidding platform
Construction Estimator Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
• Ability to navigate specifications and plans
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
• Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
• Knowledge of the computerized bidding software and scheduling software
• Close attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Complex problem solving
Education and Experience Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration
• Construction Project Management certification recommended
• 5+ years of construction experience
