The Field Operations Manager is a leadership position overseeing Solar Installation Technicians and Foremen. This individual will manage, direct, plan and coordinate activities of projects for the assigned location to ensure the goals/objectives are met in the prescribed time frame and budget.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure that project schedules and planning timelines are met
• Manage the activities of projects to ensure that the construction schedules are met
• Plan, direct and coordinate activities of projects to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters
• Supervise the solar installation teams to ensure that the installations are done to required specifications
• Direct and manage multiple sites, employees and contractors
• Manage field technician activities and training
• Manage complex electrical installation and repairs
• Oversee special projects as needed
• Supervise and motivate a variety of field personnel involved in the installation of solar projects
• Drive continuous improvements for safety, quality, customer service and production through field operations

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience
• At least three years’ supervisory experience in the construction industry with some solar experience preferred
• Previous experience managing multiple projects
• Experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes
• Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and knowledge of OSHA safety standards
• Understanding of construction math
• Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget
• Proven ability to manage and motivate employees
• OSHA 30 Training preferred
• Experience supervising and managing subcontractors in other trades
• Proficiency with Google Workspace preferred
• Experience and comfort level working on roofs
