Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, the Global Communications Manager for Innovation will lead the development and implementation of integrated communications for the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and global innovation teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the implementation of the integrated communications plan to meet the strategic goals for both internal and external audiences.

The candidate must be an experienced communications professional with excellent command of all communications disciplines including internal and external communications, brand and reputation management and digital channel management. The implementation aspect of this role will require significant hands-on research, writing, and collateral development in support of strategic objectives.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Create high-impact, multi-channel communications that educate key stakeholder groups. This includes for example, presentations, remarks, talking points, briefing books, etc.
  • Manage CIO outreach and engagement plan
  • Manage and track CIO engagement plan in collaboration with the objective of cascading Innovation messaging and key corporate updates to stakeholders across the company (Town Halls, roundtable discussions, board meetings, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Innovation and Communications staff on high priority external speaking engagements capitalizing on the CINNO position
  • Manage CINNO engagements and build working library of all communications materials to be readily deployable
  • Support execution of high-impact events in alignment with innovation strategy (e.g. TechCons, Investor Reviews, Board Reviews)
  • Provide organizational support for Innovation, Sustainability, Community Impact, & Innovation Centers teams to achieve our Innovation & Sustainability strategy
  • Special Project support for high impact initiatives such as Awards programs, Innovation Centers, and specific support to sustainability and community case studies to showcase progress
  • Assist in the development and day-to-day management of internal digital channels for clear communications across Saint-Gobain business and innovation community
  • Set and track metrics to ensure alignment of Saint-Gobain Innovation goals with communications deliverables
  • Serve as communications lead for assigned areas, liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to guide communications positioning on business-critical topics as needed
  • Actively collaborate with Saint-Gobain Corporate Communications to implement external Executive Communications activities for CIO
  • Partner with Global and Regional Communications teams to implement strategic communications plans for Innovation, External Venturing and other groups as needed
  • Work within Saint-Gobain network to identify public relations opportunities from within the innovation community that would support the team’s goals and strategies
  • Lead development of communications support for research-centered issues including talking points, Q&As and white papers as appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of results-driven scientific communications experience •
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in communications or related field required
  • Bachelors in communications, English, or social sciences discipline highly desirable
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications (both an articulate speaker and active listener), adapting to diverse, global audiences
  • Superb project management ability; establishes and/or refines relevant communications tools, templates, processes, guidelines, and calendars to manage workflow
  • Creative thinker; conceives and executes innovative solutions to meet or exceed goals
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment
  • Must possess strong skills in all Microsoft Office applications including; Outlook, Word, Share Point and PowerPoint
  • Expresses R & D concepts, projects, work clearly and succinctly to various audiences.
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to audience in clear, straightforward manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interface with executive-level leadership
  • Ability to build networks and coalitions to lead through influence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
  • Agency background with project management experience a plus
