About Energy Coordinating Agency
Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to help people conserve energy and to promote a sustainable and socially equitable energy future for all. Since 1984, ECA has led the design and implementation of high-quality energy conservation, education, and home repair initiatives to eliminate energy burden and stabilize low-income families in their homes and communities.
The Knight Green Careers Training Center prepares students for high-demand clean energy careers that provide family sustaining wages, such as those in solar, HVAC, residential energy efficiency, green construction, or environmental remediation.
Position Description
ECA is looking for a seasoned HVAC instructor with expertise in residential and commercial applications to provide workforce development. The instructor is responsible for curriculum development and course modifications to remain current in a specific discipline, instructing courses related to their area of expertise, assessing student learning and evaluating progress. If needed, ECA will provide professional development on instructional methods an experienced HVAC technician.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Duties and Responsibilites
- Assist the Director of Training with curriculum revisions.
- Assist the Director of Training to assure that curriculum is current with industry standards
- Instruct classes based on your area of expertise in HVAC.
- Assess student learning
- Evaluate student progress and recommend resources to enhance learning
- Provide technical assistance to other cities and states when required
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Certification and/or verifiable expertise in the discipline, teaching, 1-2 years teaching/training experience preferred but not required. ECA will train on teaching methods.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Microsoft Office skills (word, excel, PowerPoint) required
- Valid driver’s license
