Your Mission:
As a Permitting Project Developer, you will act as a project manager, collaborating across departments to ensure projects reach the ready-to-build (RTB) stage. The role requires assessing and securing permits at Local, State, and Federal levels to advance project development. The candidate will gain exposure to all aspects of project development and must be adaptable and quick to learn.
Your Main Responsibilities will be:
- Manage renewable energy projects in the USA, including utility-scale solar, wind farms, battery energy storage and emerging technologies.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each project by collaborating closely with all departments.
- Ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements, establishing key development timelines.
- Research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations, assessing their impact on project development and associated risks.
- Lead and engage in meetings with local communities and government entities to facilitate project approvals.
- Communicate findings effectively to department heads.
- Review land and environmental reports to assess project feasibility and risks.
- Utilize geospatial analysis tools for site assessment and project planning.
Minimum requirements
Requirements:
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Environmental Sciences, Permitting Environmental Management, Engineering (Environmental, Electrical, etc.), Land management / Urban planning, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience in the renewable energy sector or a related industry (consulting, construction, etc.)
- Experience with permitting, environmental consulting/regulation, and communication with public agencies applicable to renewable energy development.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive approach with a growth mindset
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- English proficiency at C1 or bilingual level is mandatory
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience with geospatial analysis tools (Google Earth Pro, ArcGIS/QGIS) is highly valued.
