Year in Review2024

welcome

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEO

2024 marked a huge milestone for PEA. We met our goal of supporting over $1 billion in clean energy and energy efficiency investment, which led to over 8,400 jobs. We have one more year left in the initial decade of our original Philadelphia Energy Campaign, and we are pushing to that 10,000 job goal.

These investments have come from major City projects like streetlighting and the Philadelphia Museum of Art; capital projects at the School District of Philadelphia; consumer programs like Solarize Philly, Built to Last, and more; and tools and resources for small businesses as well as for commercial and industrial firms. The PEA and Philadelphia Green Capital Corp (PGCC) teams have worked to implement some of the country’s most ambitious and complex clean energy projects. Together our work has helped to build a growing, equitable clean energy economy in our region. Many of our programs are recognized as national models for using energy and climate action as tools to address our biggest challenges — from poverty and inequity to public health and safety.

This work takes collaboration across government, sectors, funders, vendors and communities. PEA is grateful for the support, innovation and commitment of all of our partners and allies. We remain steadfast in our commitment to building an inclusive, robust clean energy economy in Philadelphia and the region, even as market and political dynamics shift.

Emily Schapira, President & CEO
