Daycare Facility Goes Solar with C-PACE Financing

Project Overview

The Flying Horse Center in Philadelphia’s historic Germantown neighborhood received the first Pennsylvania C-PACE project funds for a renewable energy installation.

PEA, Greenworks Lending, and The Capers Company LLC closed in August 2020 on $559,469 in C-PACE financing. Located at 5534-46 Pulaski Avenue in Northwest Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood, the property today houses Olde City Day School — a minority-owned childcare provider — alongside a healthcare facility and real estate office.

The 212-kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar array was constructed by K.E.S. LLC. Solar energy provides more than 266 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity, enough to power 100% of electricity needs for The Flying Horse Center’s tenants.
