Bright Solar Futures (BSF) prepares Philadelphia high school students to launch careers in the fast-growing solar and clean energy industry. The first program of its kind in the United States, BSF combines classroom instruction, hands-on technical training, and paid summer learning to equip students with real-world skills and industry exposure over three years before graduation. PEA developed lesson plans, syllabi, and structured coursework aligned with industry standards.
Program Benefits
Bright Solar Futures was designed for students enrolled in participating Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs within the School District of Philadelphia.

Professional Credentials
Students receive opportunities to obtain industry-recognized credentials, including the NABCEP Associates and the OSHA 10 Construction Safety certification.
Summer Enrichment
Students participate in a paid, four-week summer experience, reinforcing classroom learning through applied projects and direct exposure to industry tools, equipment, and practices.
Career & Technical Education Curriculum
Bright Solar Futures prepares students to pursue entry-level roles, apprenticeships, industry certifications, or continued technical education in solar and related fields. The program includes:
