Philadelphia Solar Week
August 12, 2019 - August 18, 2019
2019 is the year to go solar and this is the week to learn why. Mayor Kenney will sign the new Solar Rebate into law, high school students will kick off their solar careers, and happy solar homeowners will open up their homes so you can see solar in action. And don’t forget to try the exclusive Solarize Philly ice cream flavors available at local shops this week only!

PEA will celebrate the $100+ million in projects launched in the first two years of the Philadelphia Energy Campaign, with a spotlight on the energy retrofit completed at Northeast High School.

Solarize Ice Cream Crawl August 12th from 5 PM-7 PM
Solarize Philly has partnered with local ice cream shops across the city to create Solarize ice cream flavors in celebration of Solar Week. Join us Monday evening to try the exclusive flavors and pick up some Solarize Philly materials!

Mayor Signs Solar Rebate August 14th from 9 AM-11 AM
Mayor’s Reception Room, Room 202, City Hall
The Mayor will sign two bills which will expedite Philadelphia’s transition to clean energy. The Solar Rebate offers an incentive payment from the City for residential or commercial solar installation completed after July 1, 2019. Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE) allows commercial property owners to finance clean energy projects on their property tax bills.

PEA will graduate the fourth cohort of students and interns from the summer solar training program and will announce the school that the District has selected to host the nation’s first Solar Program of Study for high school students.

Homes across the city
Philadelphians who have gone solar through Solarize Philly will open their homes to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to see solar installations across the city and hear directly from Solarize Philly participants about their experience powering their homes with clean energy.
