Wharton Energy Conference

Established in 2007, the Wharton Energy Conference (WEC) is now one of the largest energy conferences in the Northeast, and the premiere event organized by an MBA student body. The WEC promotes dialogue and creates connections between current and future leaders of the energy industry.

PEA’s Executive Director, Emily Schapira will be speaking at 2018 Wharton Energy Conference on the Entrepreneurship in Energy panel. The Entrepreneurship panel brings together a diverse group of companies, founders, and incubators associated with the energy industry. The discussion will revolve around challenges that new companies face and how to overcome them. Challenges specific to clean-tech, oil and gas, and big data companies can be very similar when looked at through the lens of entrepreneurship. We hope to gain some insights and lessons learned from the panelists that have had success in founding their own ventures. Other panelist include:

  • Chip Moldenhauer  Founder and CEO – (LawIQ)
  • Jiro Otsuka  Cleantech Incubator Manager – Urban Future Labs
  • Robert Frantz  CEO – KineticCeramics
  • Ben Williams  Entrepreneur – Open Sky Energy
  • Robert Kabera  Founder – Credimarks
