Architecture 2030, the 2030 challenge, and the AIA 2030 Commitment, calls for Architects to design net zero buildings by 2030. In urban environments such as the Philadelphia area, we must not only design and renovate, new and existing buildings to this standard, but also electrify them. Urban buildings, especially high rises, and their supporting infrastructure, will need a clean electricity grid to ensure that the built environment will reach our goals.
