The Philadelphia Energy Authority will hold a Special Session, on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. The meeting will be held via videoconference. There is one agenda item, which is a resolution to approve an amendment to the Authority's Articles of Incorporation which sets forth in the Articles the Authority's powers and purposes.

Pennsylvania Solar Center: Meeting Peak Demand and Environmental Justice with Solar
Peak Demand occurs essentially during the hottest days of the year (or sometimes the coldest) when electricity use is at its highest and requires all available energy resources to be operating. When demand is at its highest, dirty and very expensive fossil fuel peaker plants that can be quickly ramped on or off are called to operate to meet this demand.
