Participants will receive resources to learn about what they can do to help their school and community reduce climate impacts and adapt to a hotter and wetter Philadelphia. Teachers will conduct hands-on activities, explore lesson plans and learn how to implement student-driven climate adaptation and mitigation projects in their communities. At the workshop, climate change content will focus on strategies for mitigation and adaptation. Teachers will receive climate change data specific to Philadelphia so their students can see directly that climate change is local, relevant and already occurring. Participants will learn how calculate their personal carbon footprint and how to conduct a student-led environmental audit.
