Career Development Coordinator

Overview

The Career Development Coordinator is responsible for recruiting students for all of the programs at the training center. Student that are interested should be forwarded to the Deputy Director to set up one-on-one interviews with the Director and Deputy Director. The Career Development Coordinator is also responsible for developing relationships with potential employers and having them come to ECA as a guest lecturer while students are attending classes. He/she is also responsible for assisting students in developing resumes that will be circulated to potential employers. Follow up with student progress at the three=month, six month and 1 year mark is required to determine retention and progress.

Duties

  • Develop relationships and distribute recruiting flyers to organizations such as the NEC’s, faith- based organizations, CareerLinks, Chambers of Commerce, CDC’s, GED education providers, and politicians etc.
  • Work with the Director, Deputy Director and Eva Ortiz, current flyer designer, to provide information for her to develop recruiting flyers.
  • Work with the Deputy Director to set up interviews with potential students for the Director and Deputy Director to interview candidates.
  • Assist the Director, Deputy Director, and instructors during orientation.
  • Enter registered students into Sales Force.
  • Invite employers and trade unions to visit the training center while students are taking classes.
  • Mid-way through the program, assist students in developing resumes.
  • Invite employers to graduations and begin circulation resumes with potential employers
  • Follow-up with student progress at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year of employment.
  • Assist the Director of Development with setting-up Career Fairs, 2 times per year.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in business, communications or Liberal Arts or 5-years related experience in the energy efficiency sector.
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of Sales Force a plus
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Valid driver’s license

The position reports to the Director of Training with an indirect report to the Deputy Director of Training. The Director, the Deputy Director and the Career Development Coordinator are the management team of the training center.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,345.00 – $61,630.51 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Philadelphia, PA 19133: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Energy efficiency sector: 3 years (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
