To join our team as a Residential Energy Auditor! We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Residential Energy Auditor servicing the Philadelphia metropolitan area. As an Energy Auditor, you will act as a program and company representative to residential and retail customers, install products, conduct energy efficiency assessments, audits, post-installation verifications and other technical data gathering activities. You will share your enthusiasm to educate and motivate customers to take the next step in their energy efficiency journey, helping them increase their comfort level, reduce carbon emissions, and save money.

  • Conduct work in compliance with company and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participating residential and retail customers.
  • Be responsible for conducting on-site energy audits and assessments for residential customers in an efficient, professional, and timely fashion.
  • Auditing includes completion of a full home inspection to determine energy efficiency needs, completion of various safety tests, installation of direct install measures (such as installing/replacing lightbulbs, showerheads, and power strips, etc..), and providing energy education to customers.
  • Motivate customers to reduce energy usage, increase sustainability, and invest in energy efficiency upgrades utilizing our participating contractor network and program incentives.
  • Provide excellent customer service and immediate benefit by installing energy-saving products, and help customers take advantage of program offerings.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and recommend solutions.
  • Identify, communicate, and document health and/or safety concerns such as gas leaks, carbon monoxide, mold, and asbestos.
  • Record audit data using a mobile device and provide customers with a summary report.
  • Initiate and log follow-up phone calls and emails to customers and contractors.
  • Act as local, on-site program and company representative to customers and retailers to encourage participation in the program and overcome barriers.
  • Promote energy-efficient products to retail associates and consumers through in-store merchandising, promotions, and training.
  • Verify and document product activation and log pricing data.
  • Train retailer staff on technical specifications and program requirements, communicate program changes.
  • Schedule promotion events and document customer and retailer interactions.
  • Manage and promptly resolve customer and retailer concerns.
  • Create and maintain a site visit schedule.
  •  Analyze and review reports, spreadsheets, and program databases for accuracy, completeness, and errors.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Work autonomously and communicate the progress of tasks and projects.
  • Some weekend and evening hours required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Relevant industry experience preferred
  • BPI Certification preferred

  • Driver’s license required
  • Fleet vehicle provided

Certification

  • Candidate must obtain BPI Building Analyst 1 certificate within first six months of employment

Residency Requirement

  • Candidate must reside within their service territory

Office Environment

  • This position is not in a typical office setting.  The position will require the employee to drive to and from appointments and may require an employee to be in extreme temperatures (hot or cold) during certain times of the year.
