The Philadelphia OIC PECO Smart Energy Solar Recruitment

Philadelphia OIC is conducting the following informational session for those interested in enrolling in The Philadelphia OIC PECO Smart Energy program. http://philaoic.org/energy-job-training/

Information session is open for the community to learn about the program for the first hour; those individuals who would like to apply are invited to stay and fill out application and take education assessment test.

Interested individuals are encouraged to Bring ID, resume, and copy of Educational Attainment.

Who is eligible to participate?

– Individuals who are 18 years of age or older

– Have a HSD or GED

– No violent crimes on record (reviewed on case by case basis)

– Pass an education assessment test (Math and Reading/English)

– Must be able to pass a physical assessment

  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Climb a ladder (roof height)

When does the training start?

There will be two cycles of Smart Energy:

1) March 12th

2) April 2018

Cycles are 10-week long programs; hours are from 7 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday

The Philadelphia OIC PECO Smart Energy program is a free program that will offer customized job training and job placement services for those who are interested in energy-oriented careers. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants receive the training needed for “smart energy” trade jobs.

The training will equip individuals with the required knowledge, skills and soft skills for success and employment.

After completing the program, participants will graduate from Philadelphia OIC with a professional certificate from North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and OSHA.

Philadelphia OIC, PECO Smart Energy program graduates become eligible to apply for available employment positions with Philadelphia OIC’s employment partners.
