Solar States and Elmwood Park Zoo will host a Solar Safari on Friday August 22. The event will unveil a new 250-kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar array powering the Frank and Paige Engro Veterinary Health Center.

Zoo guests and event attendees will be greeted by a solar education station at the park’s promenade, featuring hands-on activities, solar games, giveaways, and fun for families

Pre-registered attendees will be invited on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the rooftop solar energy system, inverters, and electrical infrastructure. All members of the public will be invited to tour the solar array from a raised walkway and gazebo.

Installed by Solar States, the solar array includes both pitched standing seam metal roofing and a ballasted flat roof system, showcasing versatile, real-world solar design in a public setting.
