Environment Committee Hearing – Bill No. 200090
The Environment Committee will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 1:00 P.M., in City Hall, room 400 to hear testimony on Bill No. 200090. Amending Chapter 9-3400 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Energy Conservation," by amending Section 9-3403, entitled "Solar Panel Incentives," amending certain definitions, under certain terms and conditions.

ENGIE and Community Energy anticipate beginning construction of the Adams County, PA solar project in May 2020. The 80-megawatt solar array will generate 22% of the City of Philadelphia’s expected consumption over a long-term contract. As the largest solar construction project in the region, the development will consist of multiple arrays of solar panels mounted on single-axis tracker units with electrical components connecting the generation facilities to the nearby transmission grid.
